Subic Trip

Finally, I have decided to blog about our trip to Subic held last April 18-20. :D This entry won't have pictures, though, so if you'd like to see the craziness that we did on that trip, go to my Multiply album. You can also read Arvin's entry on the trip. :D

Attendance (in order of arrival at Arvin's house): Arvin, Mark, me, Kenneth, Joan, Fu Yuen, Candice, Em and Kuya Billy

April 18 - Getting acquainted with the place
We all met up at Arvin's house and left at around 6:30, if I'm not mistaken. Since some of us still haven't eaten breakfast, we ate at Jollibee in one of the Petron stations along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). The rest of the trip went on quite smoothly, except at one point when Arvin thought we were lost since we passed by a part of Bataan. Thankfully, though, we were on the right track and we arrived at Legenda Suites at around 11am. After settling the reservation, we headed to our room, deposited our bags, played cards and took videos for a while, and then proceeded to Aristocrat for our lunch. :)

We then went to Royal Subic to do some shopping for our meals and other stuff we might be needing for the rest of our stay. We stayed quite a while, mainly because Arvin and Fu Yuen were really doing their best to buy food that's both healthy and cost-efficient. It's such a shame, really, that they know much more about preparing food and budgeting compared to us girls. -_-

After we headed back to our suite, we prepared to swim in the pool! Joan and I went ahead of the others since some of them were still sleeping. When we arrived at the pool, there were a lot of people in it so it was a bit crowded, but we still managed to swim. I'm not really too fond of swimming, mainly because until now I can't quite float by myself. Shameful, yes. I can still do the backstroke, but otherwise...forget it. I was the first to go back to our room. :P

When the majority of us were back, Arvin and Fu Yuen started cooking dinner, which turned out to be really yummy spaghetti! :D After eating to our hearts' content, we rearranged the rooms a bit by putting the first layer of the beds on the floor so that there's more sleeping room. :D I slept at around 2am, I think. The guys tried setting up their laptops in order for them to play games, but they were unsuccessful. :( Some of the girls watched movies before going to sleep. Haha.

April 19 - Fun at the Beach!
We first had a simple breakfast - bread and Cheez Whiz, lovingly spread by Joan. :D Then Arvin started cooking corned beef with egg and pan, though I didn't get to eat it. (I'm not used to eating too much at breakfast.) The rest of the morning consisted mostly of movie-watching, card-playing and more sleeping. Haha. Oh, and don't forget the lunch preparations by Arvin, Fu Yuen, Candice and Kenneth. They had to cook the pork, vegetables and the banana in different batches because of the small size of our pan, so the different batches somehow differed slightly in taste, though all of them still tasted good. :D

At around 4pm, we went to the beach, which was far from Legenda Suites, and quite pricey too. Thankfully, the entrance fee was consumable, so we decided to have dinner at the beach. Before that, though, we took our time to walk on the shore, and for Billy and Em, to swim. :D When Billy and Em finished swimming, we took a whole lot of pictures and basically showed the wackier side of ourselves. :P We then ate dinner, and went back to our suite. Some of us still swam in the swimming pool after that. :P

Best dialogue of the evening
Kenneth: Mas masarap pa dito yung luto ni Arvin. (Translation: Arvin's cooking is better than this. [He was referring to the food at the beach.])
Arvin: Ganito kasi yan. Sila, they cook dahil kailangan nila. Ako, I cook with love. (Translation: It's because they cook because they need to. Me, I cook with love.)

April 20 - Bye-bye Subic :(
Most of the morning was spent cooking and consuming whatever left-overs we had, as well as packing our things and making sure we haven't forgotten anything. After getting the clearance from the Legenda Suites management, it was time for us to bid farewell to the place.

The trip back to Manila wasn't too eventful, save for some times when Arvin was having too much fun overtaking, or at least attempting to overtake, other vehicles. :)) Like our trip going to Subic, it went on pretty smoothly, with minimal traffic. We first dropped off Candice near her house, then Em and Kenneth at Em's house, then Billy at the LRT station, then me! Joan and Fu Yuen decided to accompany Arvin to drop me and Mark off despite the fact that they could have been dropped off after Billy. :P

I want to have another outing with my friends. :))
